Backpacks, Bleachers, Bathrooms and Fall Sports

Key Takeaways
  • Practices, games, and tournaments need reliable bathrooms for players, families, officials, and volunteers.
  • For routine practices/rec leagues: clean Standard units; for varsity/homecoming/VIP: upgrade to luxury trailers.
  • Include ADA-compliant units; heated interiors and lighting boost comfort as temps drop.
  • Size banks to attendance and duration; place near fields, bleachers, and concessions.
  • Book early for fall weekends; delivery, setup, and servicing keep lines short.

Although I’m sitting here in front of the air conditioner enjoying a warm summer afternoon,  I’m acutely aware that it’s coming – ‘the most wonderful time of the year’.  No, not Christmas.  Of course, I’m talking about back to school season.

Summer may feel like a slow moving, easy living couple of months but the days will be getting shorter.  Before you know it, you’ll be stocking up on notebooks, erasable markers and back to school clothes.

Welcome back to school.  The hot slow days will soon give way to action packed hustle once school gets back into full swing. There’s so much to do and if you’re managing a few of these annual rites of Autumn, so many activities to start planning now.

Back to school Fun Fair? Now’s the time.  Back to School bash? The time is now.  If you’re still trying to decide on a great back to school event, this is still the internet and there are lists that can help you decide.

School’s Back, And So Is Everything Else

But perhaps one thing stands out as we herd the kids towards a new school year: fall sports.  Fall means new books and tablets, sure, but it also means homecoming, bonfires, and football!

In the blink of an eye you’ll see parents wrapped in blankets, sitting on the chilly metal bleacher stands cheering on their young players.

The kids’ favorite adults will fill the stands, hot coffee or tea in one hand, maybe a squirming sibling in the other.  Nobody is immune to nature, though, and eventually people will need one thing: a bathroom.

Why Sports Events (and Practices!) Need Great Bathrooms

The bathroom.  The toilet.  The head.  Not always the first thing you think of when you’re setting up practices – which can last for hours – games and tournaments – arranging practice at a temporary or remote location – but nature always calls and she always wins.  We may as well enjoy it.

In addition to the team, that simultaneously rag tag and well oiled group of teens (or tots!), remember you’ll also have their friends and families there to watch, coaches, referees, support people and volunteers.

Everyone involved will appreciate a clean, well lit bathroom at some point.  School bathrooms may not always be accessible or open if practice runs late. Your new practice field may not even have lavatory facilities.  Tournament spaces are frequently underprepared for the crowds.

It’s an easy call to ensure there are enough bathroom facilities to accommodate the crowds. Everyone will appreciate added features like flush toilets and sinks, too.  And as autumn’s temperatures start to dip, a heated lavatory will be a big hit.

Events That Call for Porta-Potties or Trailers

Football isn’t the only thing coming this fall, but it’s right there at the top of the list of good reasons to rent a portable lavatory.

Long games, water and sports drinks flowing and maybe some tasty snacks mean many bathroom visits. Youth Soccer weekends – Those tournaments can run all day and end up far from a building with bathroom access! Marching band and cheer practice – Hey, these kids are athletes too.  They’ve got to stay hydrated so they can jump and contort or heft their brass instruments and drum sets.  They absolutely deserve a clean bathroom.

Cross Country Meets & Track Events – Cross country events are almost by nature set away from the school’s bathrooms, more often found in a rural or park setting, but always attracting onlookers along the route, accessible toilet facilities are a much needed consideration.

Community Rec Leagues – flag football? Such fun!  Pee-wee baseball?  Adorable.  These activities will bring the whole family, from little bro to Uncle Joe, to watch practices and games.

Don’t forget those PTA sponsored events, fun runs, trunk-or-treat when Halloween comes around either, there is simply nobody who won’t need to use a bathroom at some point.

Portable Toilet or Luxury Trailer?

Look, I love lights, heat, and running water as much as the next gal—but I’m also a realist. Sometimes, a simple, clean porta-potty is perfect for practices. Other times? Nothing beats a luxury restroom trailer for keeping everyone happy and clean.

Regular practice? Rec league games?  A standard porta-potty is a good choice here. While not fancy, you still enjoy a non-skid floor, skylight and ventilation and a squirt of hand sanitizer.

Varsity play? Perhaps a VIP section?  That sounds like a reason to upgrade to a full restroom trailer

For public school settings and anywhere you want to be sure everyone can access a bathroom, consider the wheelchair accessible ADA-Compliant restroom.

Plan Now, Cheer Later

Summer will come to an end before you know it and back to school events will start stacking up fast.  Getting your plan in action now is better than waiting until the last minute.  For fewer headaches later, now is a great time to consider your lavatory trailer and porta-potty needs before the school buses start running again.  It’s okay to enjoy these last warm summer days, we’ll take care of delivery, setup, cleaning and removal.  It sounds easy because it is easy, you’ll find yourself working on a special cheer for yourself once you get this locked in.  Go ahead, you’ll deserve it!

You bring the school spirit, we’ll bring the bathrooms. Get in touch today and keep your fall sports schedule running smoothly, no matter how rowdy the crowd gets.
